About fries.wtf
fries.wtf is an independent reference that answers one question: where do you actually get the most food, protein, and nutrition for your money at the drive-thru? We rank menu items across 38 chains by real price and published nutrition — not marketing.
What we do
Every day we collect real prices directly from each chain’s own ordering system and pair them with each item’s published nutrition facts. From those two numbers we compute the metrics the menu board never shows you:
- Protein per dollar — grams of protein for every dollar spent.
- Calories per dollar — raw energy for the money.
- Health score — a 0–100 nutrition-quality score that rewards protein and fiber and penalizes excess sodium, saturated fat, and sugar.
- Value score — a blend of the above that surfaces genuinely good buys rather than just the biggest or cheapest.
You can also plan a whole meal to a protein goal for the least money, watch prices change over time, and compare any two items head-to-head. See the full methodology for exactly how each score is built.
Where the numbers come from
Prices are pulled from each chain’s first-party ordering APIs and vary by location, so a price you see is a real price a real customer would pay — not an estimate or an aggregator’s guess. Items we haven’t yet collected a price for show nutrition only. Nutrition figures are the chains’ own published values for standard builds. We currently track 2,558 priced items.
Independence
fries.wtf is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or sponsored by any restaurant, chain, or brand named on the site. Restaurant names and logos are the property of their respective owners and are used for identification only. We make money from advertising and an optional developer API — never from the chains we rank.
